Job summary

West Virginia Virtual Academy (WVVA) is seeking a remote High School Special Education Teacher who is state-certified to deliver online instruction and support students with IEPs. The teacher will manage assessments, ensure compliance documentation, and collaborate with families to advance each student's learning.

This is a full-time remote role requiring strong communication, data tracking, and the ability to work independently from a home office, typically 9-5, with occasional travel up to 20%

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Active State Special Education teaching license is required.
• Six (6) months of student teaching experience is required.
• Ability to clear required background checks is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and monitor online Special Education instruction aligned to IEPs.
• Collaborate with families and related service staff to ensure therapies are provided as needed.
• Develop and maintain compliant IEPs, progress reports, and state-required documentation.
• Lead and participate in annual IEP meetings and other collaborative meetings.
• Use provided resources to implement accommodations and modifications for students with disabilities.
• Provide engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences and track progress.
• Communicate with families and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner and document contacts.
• Travel up to 20% for face-to-face professional development or testing as required.
