Job summary

PediaTrust is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse to join a dedicated team caring for up to 6 children alongside a CNA/DCW. The role includes administering medications, monitoring vitals, and following care plans with emphasis on safety and HIPAA compliance.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license, BLS and CPR certifications, and pediatric experience. PALS certification is preferred. Excellent communication with families and accurate record-keeping are essential.

Qualifications

• Pediatric RN with 1+ year pediatric experience or 2+ years as an LPN with pediatrics.
• BLS Certification is required.
• CPR Certification is required and active.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor the physical and emotional health of the children.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes promptly.
• Administer prescribed meds, injections, IVs and treatments per care plans.
• Ensure hygiene, infection control and safety procedures are followed.
• Use medical equipment appropriately and safely.
• Assist children with complex needs including feeding and mobility.
• Respond to emergencies with CPR and first aid as needed.
• Communicate with parents about medical needs and updates.
• Maintain updated medical records and HIPAA compliance.

Job description

Full-Time Registered Nurse

Work alongside a CNA/DCW to provide total care for up to 6 children. Administering medications, treatments, emergency action, help develop and implement care plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor the physical and emotional health of children throughout the day recognizing and reporting signs of distress.
• Monitor vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels, and temperature, and report changes in condition.
• Administer prescribed medications, injections, IVs, and treatments according to individual care plans and emergency protocols.
• Ensure proper hygiene and prevent infections, safe handling practices, infection control and safety procedures are followed.
• Ensure the appropriate use of medical equipment such as feeding tubes, oxygen therapy, ventilators, and other specialized devices.
• Assist children with complex medical matters requiring assistance with feeding, mobility, restroom, tubes, lifting, and other needs.
• Respond promptly yet calmly and decisively to medical emergencies providing CPR, first aid, and other life‑saving procedures as needed.
• Work closely with parents and guardians to understand the child’s medical needs, care protocols, health updates, incidents and concerns.
• Ensure care plans are updated and followed.
• Maintain accurate medical records of all health assessments, medications, treatments, incidents and ensure compliance with state health and safety guidelines and HIPAA.

Required Qualifications:

• Pediatric Nursing:
• Pediatric Nursing: One or more years of experience as a RN with pediatric experience, which includes six months caring for medically complex or technologically dependent children; or 2 or more years of documented pediatric nursing experience as a licensed practical nurse with 6 months experience caring for medically complex or technologically dependent children. (Required)
