Job summary

Qualifications

• Pediatric nursing experience: 1+ year as LPN or 2+ years as DCW with medically fragile children.
• BLS and CPR certifications required.
• Current State License required.
• CPR certifications must be current.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor the health of children throughout the day, reporting signs of distress.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes in condition.
• Administer medications and treatments per individualized care plans.
• Ensure hygiene, infection control, and safety procedures are followed.
• Respond to medical emergencies with CPR and first aid as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with parents/guardians to communicate health updates and care plans.

Job description

Who we are looking for:

Full time LPN

Work alongside a CNA/DCW to provide total care for up to 6 children. Administering medications, treatments, emergency action, help develop and implement care plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor the physical and emotional health of children throughout the day recognizing and reporting signs of distress.
• Monitor vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels, and temperature, and report changes in condition.
• Administer prescribed medications, injections, IVs, and treatments according to individual care plans and emergency protocols.
• Ensure proper hygiene and prevent infections, safe handling practices, infection control and safety procedures are followed.
• Ensure the appropriate use of medical equipment such as feeding tubes, oxygen therapy, ventilators, and other specialized devices.
• Assist children with complex medical matters requiring assistance with feeding, mobility, restroom, tubes, lifting, and other needs.
• Respond promptly yet calmly and decisively to medical emergencies providing CPR, first aid, and other life-saving procedures as needed.
• Work closely with parents and guardians to understand the child's medical needs, care protocols, health updates, incidents, and concerns.
• Ensure care plans are updated and followed.
• Maintain accurate medical records of all health assessments, medications, treatments, incidents and ensure compliance with state health and safety guidelines and HIPAA.

Required Qualifications:

• Pediatric Nursing: i. one year or more years experience in pediatrics as an LPN; or two years of documented prior pediatric experience working as a direct care worker caring formedically fragile child(ren). (Required)

• CPR Certified (Required)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Use of relevant medical equipment or administering medications
• Caring for children who have chronic illnesses or disabilities
• LPN
