Job summary

City of Tukwila is seeking a Recreation Program Specialist to assist in planning, scheduling, and delivering diverse community programs at Tukwila Community Center. You will coordinate events, lead activities, and ensure safe, engaging experiences for participants.

This 1.0 FTE role requires collaboration, strong customer service, and the ability to adapt to varying hours, including weekends and evenings. The position offers health benefits and retirement opportunities with the City.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required and three years of related recreation program experience.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, scheduling, and implementation of a variety of recreation programs, events, and activities.
• Coordinate facility and equipment scheduling; oversee program logistics including set-up and daily operations.
• Provide direct leadership for assigned programs, ensuring high-quality participant experiences.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate seasonal staff and volunteers.
• Develop promotional materials and support marketing efforts to increase participation.
• Conduct community outreach and build relationships with participants and stakeholders.
