Qualifications

• Lived experience with mental illness or substance use.
• Willingness to complete peer support training if not already completed.
• Ability to cope with mental and emotional stress related to work with individuals in crisis.

Responsibilities

• Observe behaviors for input on treatment planning and report significant changes to clinical staff.
• Maintain a clean home environment and follow shift responsibilities and schedules.
• Act as a role model to peers, exhibiting recovery, coping skills, advocacy, and providing peer support information.
• Assist peers in regaining independence and community ownership of their recovery using various techniques.
