Job summary

Center for Family Services in Camden, NJ is hiring Recovery Specialists to provide on-site coverage at county Emergency Departments, delivering non-clinical recovery supports for individuals with Substance Use Disorder and those reversed from an opioid overdose.

This full-time role offers a $500 sign-on bonus and a comprehensive benefits package as you collaborate with Case Managers to develop recovery plans, educate clients, and help them engage in services over 12 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency required; Associate's degree and NJ Peer Recovery Specialist Certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in recovery principles; 3 years preferred.
• Understanding of multiple pathways to recovery.
• Basic computer skills and email communication.
• Valid driver's license with at least three years of driving history; vehicle with insurance and registration.

Responsibilities

• Develop Recovery Plan with goals and measurable objectives.
• Identify barriers and monitor progress toward goals.
• Educate clients on navigating treatment and recovery systems.
• Provide recovery support based on client needs and preferences.
• Support clients through stages of change and recovery.
• Assist clients in accessing community recovery services.
• Collaborate with Case Manager to engage services up to one year.
• Share experiential knowledge to motivate clients; be a positive role model.
• Maintain relationships to aid treatment engagement and retention.
• Advise on creating a supportive social and physical recovery environment.
• Assist STAR program participants in gaining skills and resources.
