Job summary

Mountain Springs Recovery in Monument, CO is seeking a QMAP to provide direct clinical support through urine specimen collection and processing for laboratory testing, under the direction of the Director of Nursing.

The role emphasizes accurate labeling, documentation in EMR, and timely transport while adhering to HIPAA, OSHA, and state/federal regulations. You will educate clients, assist during medication passing, and support safety and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience or education working with individuals affected by substance use disorders.
• Crisis management or de-escalation techniques in healthcare or behavioral health.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA requirements and patient confidentiality standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills with demonstrated professionalism and appropriate boundaries.
• Sensitivity to religious, ethnic, and cultural differences, with the ability to provide respectful and inclusive care.
• Familiarity with withdrawal monitoring tools such as COWS and CIWA, with scoring performed by licensed staff.
• QMAP Certification is valid.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
• Must complete Background Check, Drug Screen, and TB Test.

Responsibilities

• Collect, label, and process urine specimens per provider orders and infection control standards.
• Ensure accurate specimen handling, documentation, and timely EMR updates.
• Coordinate lab workflows and communicate with providers and nursing staff to support continuity of care.
• Support medical detox services through ordered specimen collections and compliant documentation.
• Educate clients on specimen collection and respond to related questions professionally.
• Monitor client safety during collections and respond to reactions or emergencies within scope.
• Assist with rounds, safety checks, inventory, and maintain a clean, compliant work environment.
• Adhere to facility policies, HIPAA, OSHA, and all applicable State and Federal regulations.
• Attend staff Training and Meetings.
