Montgomery College in Takoma Park–Silver Spring seeks a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant faculty member to begin January 2027. The program is CAPTE-accredited, and the hire is within the Allied Health Sciences Department.

The successful candidate will motivate students and contribute to health science education across diverse learner groups and delivery modes. Duties include teaching didactic, lab, and clinical courses, teaching 30 semester hours per year (with possible summer classes),

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
Active PT or PTA license and Maryland license in good standing or eligible.
Three years full-time or equivalent clinical PT experience.
Excellence in classroom instruction with diverse teaching methods.
Experience delivering courses using LMS and high-impact pedagogy.
Commitment to inclusive and equitable teaching for diverse students.
Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Teach didactic, laboratory, and clinical courses in the PTA program.
Teach 30 semester hours per academic year; summer teaching possible.
Participate in accreditation activities and standards compliance.
Contribute to curriculum design and outcomes assessment.
Provide support to the program and clinical coordinator as needed.
Travel within DC, MD, and VA to clinical sites affiliated with the program.
Serve on committees, hold office hours, advise students, and pursue professional development.
