Job summary

Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is seeking a Psychiatric Counselor for full-time day shift with rotating weekends. You will deliver direct psychiatric care to patients under the supervision of the Patient Care Manager and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to rapidly identify and treat crises.

Required: one year of behavioral health experience, CPR/BLS, and de-escalation training within six months. Preferred: bachelor’s degree in behavioral health and related experience in mental

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a behavioral health unit or internship in behavioral health.
• CPR – Basic Life Support
• De-escalation training within six months of hire

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments and orient patient to unit.
• Plan and implement care in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
• Facilitate groups for Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric populations.
• Assist with ADLs under the direction of the Charge RN.
• Communicate incidents impacting safety to Manager and Charge Nurse.
