Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Psychiatric Counselor for a full-time day shift, 7:00am–3:30pm with rotating weekends. You will deliver direct care to psychiatric patients, coordinate with the care team, and help identify crisis needs while supporting a patient-first approach across the NM system.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, CPR/BLS certification, and de-escalation training within six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• One year experience in a behavioral health unit or internship.
• CPR – Basic Life Support required.
• De-escalation training within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments, orient patients to unit, and perform body/belongings searches under RN direction.
• Plan and implement care with the multi-disciplinary team; contribute to Master Treatment Plan.
• Facilitate groups for Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric populations and conduct related therapy sessions.
