Job summary

Lake Area Discovery Center in Eagan, MN is seeking a Full-Time Pre-K Assistant Teacher for afternoon hours. Compensation is $18.00–$22.00 per hour with paid holidays, PTO, and 64 hours of PTO across the year.

The role supports the Lead Teacher and classroom routines, offering a reliable, year-round position for someone who enjoys working with young children and values a structured, caring environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with preschool or Pre-K children is preferred.
• Early Childhood Education coursework or experience is a plus.
• Dependable, positive, and comfortable working as part of a teaching team.
• Must meet applicable Minnesota childcare licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher with the daily Pre-K classroom routine.
• Engage with children during learning activities, centers, outdoor play, and transitions.
• Support a positive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
• Assist with afternoon activities and end-of-day routines.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom.
• Work collaboratively with Lead Teachers, assistants, and on-site staff.

Looking for a rewarding full-time afternoon position working with young children? Lake Area Discovery Center is hiring a Pre-K Assistant Teacher at Faithful Shepherd's Discovery Center in Eagan, MN.

This position works alongside our Lead Teacher and teaching team to support Pre-K students during the afternoon portion of their school day. It is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is looking for consistent part-time, weekday afternoon hours in a supportive early childhood education environment.

What You'll Do

• Assist the Lead Teacher with the daily Pre-K classroom routine
• Engage with children during learning activities, centers, outdoor play, and transitions
• Support a positive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment
• Assist with afternoon activities and end-of-day routines
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom

• Follow LADC policies and Minnesota childcare licensing requirements
