Job summary

Verrazano Nursing & Post-Acute Center in New York is seeking a dedicated Porter/Housekeeper to maintain cleanliness, safety, and comfort for residents. You will follow cleaning schedules, coordinate with nursing staff, and ensure work areas are immaculate and safe.

Responsibilities

• Follow cleaning schedules and ensure tasks are completed as planned.

• Follow safety precautions and proper chemical handling per manufacturer instructions.
• Maintain clean, safe, and attractive work areas.
• Report hazardous conditions or equipment to supervisor.

We are seeking a dedicated and attentive Porter/Housekeeper to join our team at Verrazano Nursing & Post-Acute Center. The Porter/Housekeeper plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and overall smooth operation of the facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for providing exceptional service to our residents.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
• Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
• Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
• Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner.
• Follow proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used for cleaning. Refer to manufacturer’s instructions when necessary
• Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to your supervisor.
