Job Opportunities

The Blackstone Police Department is seeking a qualified candidate to fill an upcoming open position of full-time Police Officer.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Must be at least 21 years old and no older than 35.
2. Must be a US citizen.
3. Must have at least a high school diploma.
4. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
5. Must possess or have the ability to acquire a Massachusetts Class A License to Carry Firearms.
6. Must have completed MCJTC full-time academy to be considered.

Successful candidates will be required to pass a thorough background investigation, medical, physical, and psychological exam, as well as all phases of the interview process. Furthermore, the candidate must meet all statutory requirements set forth by the Peace Officer and Standards Commission (POST) to become a certified Law Enforcement Officer under Mass General Law.

Compensation: Starts at $28.81 per hour ($29.96 effective July 1, 2025) with increases based on contractual agreements, education, and steps. Educational incentives include 10% for Associates, 20% for Bachelors, and 25% for a Master Degree.
