Community Clinical Therapist or RN Providence Police Day Shift $5,000 retention bonus

This position is eligible for a $5,000 retention bonus.

Job Summary:

The Providence Center is seeking a Community Clinical Therapist or RN for the Providence Police Day Shift. The role involves providing outpatient crisis services within the Providence community, including in-person assessments. The clinician will work weekends and holidays, stationed at the Providence Police Station, and respond to community behavioral health assessments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Evaluate referrals of TPC consumers, including active/inactive consumers, employees and their families, health plan members, uninsured residents with psychiatric disabilities, homeless, and transient individuals.
2. Consult with community agencies such as police, rescue, emergency rooms, and private health plans for behavioral health services.
3. Assess referred clients and make treatment or hospitalization recommendations following clinical protocols.
4. Coordinate with first responders for psychiatric crisis triage and assessment in the community.
5. Identify diversion and hospitalization opportunities.
6. Provide supportive counseling to consumers, families, and significant others as needed.
7. Consult with hospital Emergency Department physicians regarding psychiatric crises.
8. Collaborate with other Center staff involved in consumer care.
9. Provide reports and records for Day Emergency Services during after-hours treatment.
10. Maintain records according to Health Information Services standards and other requirements.
11. Follow Infection Control protocols.
12. Engage in professional development through trainings, conferences, and community organizations.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse or Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
• Minimum of five years experience in assessment, triage, and crisis intervention for individuals with serious psychiatric disabilities (preferred).
• QMHP eligibility required.
• Ability to manage crisis situations calmly; knowledge of psychotropic medications, community resources, and emergency services.
