Job summary

Chartwells K-12 is hiring a full-time Helper Cook at Community High School District in Downers Grove, IL. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, with no nights or weekends.

You will assist in preparing and cooking food to recipes, read menus to estimate needs, operate kitchen equipment, and maintain sanitation throughout the shift. Prior pizza cooking experience is required. This role offers training and a supportive team within a school dining program.

Qualifications

• Prior pizza cooking experience is required.
• Ability to read menus and estimate food requirements.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards in kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Read menu to estimate food requirements and procure ingredients.
• Prepare and cook food in accordance with recipes and production records.
• Adjust oven temperatures and operate kitchen equipment.
• Measure and mix ingredients using kitchen tools.
• Bake, roast, and garnish dishes as directed.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation throughout prep and service.
• Interact with customers and coworkers in a courteous, efficient manner.
