Job summary

Mission Healthcare in Madras, OR is seeking a Full Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for home health. You will provide direct physical therapy under the guidance of a Physical Therapist in patients' homes.

Responsibilities include relieving pain, restoring function, guiding therapeutic exercises, gait and transfer training, and using modalities as appropriate. You will observe responses and report changes to the PT.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program with an Associate's degree approved by APTA.
• Current Physical Therapy license or state certification as required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.

• Treat patients to relieve pain, restore function, and maximize performance.
• Guide patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, gait and transfer training, and prosthetic training.
• Utilize modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and massage as appropriate.
• Observe patient responses and report changes to PT and staff.
• Instruct patients in care and use of mobility aids and orthotics.

Education

Associate's degree in science or applied science approved by the American Physical Therapy Association, Inc.

Pay range: Starting at $40/hour, depending on experience

Schedule/Shift: Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM

Territory/Location: Madras, OR

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct physical therapy according to the directions of Physical Therapist and in accordance with the physician’s plan of care.
• Treat patient to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
• Direct and aid patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle re‑education, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training.
• Utilize physical agents, including, but not be limited to heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage.
• Observe and report to the Physical Therapist and organization personnel the patient’s reaction to treatment and any changes in patient's condition.
• Instruct patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program with an Associate's degree in science or applied science approved by the American Physical Therapy Association, Inc.
• Current Physical Therapy certification or license as required by state law.
• Current BLS, hands‑on CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license and reliable, insured vehicle.
