Job summary

Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, GA seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA) to work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, carrying out treatment plans for patients recovering from surgery, illness, or injury.

The role includes guiding patients through prescribed exercises, assisting with mobility, monitoring progress, and documenting outcomes to improve function and promote safe discharge.

Qualifications

• A.A. Degree.
• Current state Physical Therapist Assistant license.
• Current BCLS (AHA) Certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement Treatment Plans: carry out specific physical therapy interventions designed by the Physical Therapist (PT).
• Assist with Patient Mobility: help patients get in and out of bed, walk, use assistive devices, and perform exercises safely.
• Monitor Patient Responses: observe and report patient progress, pain levels, or adverse reactions during therapy sessions to the supervising PT.
• Educate Patients: teach patients proper movement techniques, safety precautions, and how to use walkers, crutches, or other mobility aids.
• Prepare Equipment: set up and clean therapy areas, and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
