Job summary

Montgomery College seeks two full-time Philosophy faculty members, one at Germantown and one at Rockville, to begin in Spring 2027. The successful candidates will teach in a multi-cultural environment, with diverse learning abilities, across classroom, laboratory, and online formats.

Duties include teaching a range of Philosophy courses, advising, curriculum development, and service on committees. A Master’s in Philosophy is required; PhD preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Philosophy or closely related field.
• Experience or professional development training on working with a diverse student population.
• Experience or professional development training on effective technology use in the classroom.
• Proficiency with and ability to use an LMS and other web-based instructional technology.

Responsibilities

• Teach a variety of Philosophy courses.
• May teach early morning, evening, weekend, or online courses.
• Teach 30 semester hours per academic year; summer courses possible.
• Participate on committees and engage in professional development.
