Appalachian State University operates the App State Academy at Middle Fork in Walkertown, North Carolina, seeking an Exceptional Children's Personal Assistant to support students under certified Exceptional Children educators. The role includes assisting with daily living activities, mobility, and academic support.

Behavior management and instructional help are key duties; starting date is immediate, with a background check required after an offer.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Four-year degree in education, psychology, or related fields is preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Previous experience working with students with special needs is preferred.
• Prior experience in a school setting is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide personal assistance and instructional support to students served by Exceptional Children services under certified EC educators.
• Assist with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, mobility, and behavioral management.
