Renewal Falls Recovery Center seeks a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist to support clients on their recovery journey across multiple shifts. The role involves welcoming clients, facilitating groups, documenting processes, and assisting with admissions.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills are essential, along with Iowa certification and a valid driver’s license for transportation duties.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
• Current Certified Peer Recovery Specialist credential recognized in Iowa.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and orient new clients to the program and resources.
• Use peer-support principles to encourage hope and recovery.
• Facilitate recovery-focused groups within the role scope.
• Assist with client admissions and required documentation.
• Conduct urine analysis (UA) collection and documentation.
• Maintain timely progress notes and client updates.
• Assist clients with ADLs and recovery-focused activities.
• Transport clients to appointments and recovery-related activities.
• Lead recreation, wellness, and recovery-support activities.
• Complete incident reports within established timeframes.
• Maintain a safe, clean, supportive treatment environment.
• Provide reception coverage and staff communication as needed.
• Recognize escalating behaviors and apply de-escalation techniques.
• Obtain basic information such as vitals when trained.
