Job summary

Crossroads is seeking a Certified Recovery Specialist to provide peer-based recovery support and connect clients to MAT within criminal-justice and community settings. You will collaborate with county jails, detention centers, and drug courts to improve access to treatment.

Responsibilities include hosting harm-reduction events, building trust with clients through empathetic listening, and maintaining recovery documentation while following professional ethics and clinical guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Personal history of mental illness, substance abuse, or co-occurring disorder.
• Identify as a person in recovery and maintain 24+ months of self-directed recovery.
• Completion of 75 hours of supervision preferred, but not required on hire.
• Certified Recovery Specialist or Certified Peer Support Specialist training completed within the last year.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer-based recovery support services to individuals contemplating or seeking help with behavioral health recovery.
• Collaborate with county jails, detention centers, and drug courts to connect individuals to MAT.
• Host community events to distribute harm reduction materials and partner with community organizations.
• Engage in relationship-building with individuals using empathetic, non-judgmental communication.
• Participate in daily shift debriefs, weekly supervision, and monthly group supervision.
• Administrative duties including recovery plan creation, data tracking and regular digital communication.
• Adhere to TCBAP codes of ethics and recovery rights.
• Follow and adhere to the recovery bill of rights.
