Full-Time Patient & Family Concierge – Transplant ICU (UPMC Presbyterian)

This role offers a meaningful way to make a difference for patients and families by enhancing their hospital experience from arrival to discharge.

As a PFC, you’ll support patients, families, and clinical staff by performing a mix of bedside, stocking, and administrative tasks. You’ll assist with everything from guiding visitors and delivering meals to transporting patients and managing supplies—ensuring smooth, compassionate care every step of the way.

This full-time role offers 36 hours per week, 9am-9pm, requiring availability on weekends and holidays. The starting pay is $19.00 per hour, with the final title and rate determined by experience and education.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients and visitors.
• Assist with patient transport, meal delivery, and supply replenishment.
• Maintain clean, organized spaces and report maintenance needs.
• Answer phones, respond to call lights, and provide non-clinical assistance.

Note: This role does NOT involve clinical tasks such as bathing, mobility assistance, or administering medical care.

About the Unit:

The Transplant ICU is a 12-bed critical care unit (growing in size when the new Kamin Tower opens in January 2027). Most of our patients have received transplanted organs includingkidney, liver, pancreas, intestine, islet cell, or multi-visceral transplants. We also care for patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, surgical oncology patients undergoing complicated abdominal surgeries, and patients suffering from multi-system organ failure. The diversity of patients makes the TICU an exciting and stimulating atmosphere for learning and professional growth.
