Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Completion of Nurse Assistant course or equivalent, required.
• OR Prior experience as a Nursing Attendant or equivalent, required.
• NYS Nurse Attendant certification, preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively, and follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to work in diversified settings.
• Ability to lift, turn, position, etc. Patients, as required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with activities of daily living and basic nursing care under supervision.
• Organizes patient care assignment and sets priorities.
• Alerts RN to changes in patient status and documents care and status changes.
• Assists with ADL needs: feeding, hygiene, mobility, grooming, and plan of care.
• Maintains clean and neat patient care units and prepares rooms for new admissions or transfers.
• Performs simple procedures using aseptic technique and basic nursing tasks.
• Transports patients and assists with meals and daily routines.
• Participates in ongoing education and mandatory training.
