Job summary

Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support patient care at our Marlborough health center. You will greet patients, assist with check-in/out, and help with exams under supervision of licensed staff.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting history, performing routine lab tasks, and facilitating education and consent workflows while maintaining HIPAA compliance and a patient‑centered approach.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Healthcare experience or customer service preferred.
  • Comfort working with diverse patient populations.
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stay active throughout most of the shift.

Position Summary

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) plays a vital role in delivering high‑quality, patient‑facing services throughout each patient visit. PCAs work both at the front desk/lobby and within the health center, ensuring compassionate, professional, and efficient care at every touchpoint.

PCAs serve as a welcoming first point of contact for patients and provide essential clinical and administrative support under the supervision and delegation of licensed clinical staff. This role requires attention to detail, strong judgment, effective communication, and a commitment to patient confidentiality and dignity.

Your Day to Day:

This position is part of the Collective Bargaining Unit.
