Job summary

Comprehensive Mobile Care in Central Valley California is seeking an Optician to support senior outpatient clinics. You will assist the optometrist with intake, screenings, and eyewear selection while delivering compassionate care to underserved communities.

This role offers a full-time schedule, four days per week, with no nights or weekends. You will operate portable equipment, ensure infection control, and document patient visits, contributing to quality eye care in a mission-driven setting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of optician or optometric technician experience.
• Experience serving geriatric or senior populations preferred.
• Ability to pass a federal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist the optometrist with patient intake, visual screenings, and basic diagnostic testing.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, including language requirements as applicable.
• Assist with eyewear selection, adjustments, fittings, and basic repairs.
• Set up, break down, and maintain portable optometry equipment.
• Follow sterilization, safety, and infection control protocols.
• Complete basic documentation, charting, and administrative tasks.
• Represent CMC with professionalism, compassion, and reliability.

This is not a high-volume retail model. We focus on quality care, meaningful patient interaction, and strong support for the providers and clinical teams we serve.

There may also be opportunities to cross-train in additional clinical areas such as audiology and podiatry.

What You’ll Do

• Assist the optometrist with patient intake, visual screenings, and basic diagnostic testing

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as an Optician or Optometric Technician preferred
• Experience serving geriatric or senior populations preferred
• Strong understanding of OSHA and infection control standards
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required
• Able to lift and transport equipment, typically 25–50 pounds
• Must be able to pass a federal background check and drug screening
• Professional, punctual, and able to work independently
