Job summary

Comprehensive Mobile Care (CMC) seeks an Optician to support senior outpatient clinics in Central Valley California. This role delivers quality vision care directly to seniors and underserved communities in a mission-driven healthcare setting.

You will assist with patient intake, eyewear selection, basic diagnostic tasks, and maintain portable equipment, with a schedule of 4 days per week and $27 per hour plus mileage reimbursement; no nights or weekends.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as an optician or optometric technician.
• Experience serving geriatric populations preferred.
• Ability to pass a federal background check and drug screening.
• Valid driver''s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 25–50 pounds.
• Professional, punctual, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

This is not a high-volume retail model. We focus on quality care, meaningful patient interaction, and strong support for the providers and clinical teams we serve.

There may also be opportunities to cross-train in additional clinical areas such as audiology and podiatry.

What You'll Do

• Assist the optometrist with patient intake, visual screenings, and basic diagnostic testing
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, including {{LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT, IF APPLICABLE}}
• Assist with eyewear selection, adjustments, fittings, and basic repairs
• Set up, break down, and maintain portable optometry equipment
• Follow sterilization, safety, and infection control protocols
• Complete basic documentation, charting, and administrative tasks
• Represent CMC with professionalism, compassion, and reliability

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as an Optician or Optometric Technician preferred
• Experience serving geriatric or senior populations preferred
• Strong understanding of OSHA and infection control standards
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required
• Able to lift and transport equipment, typically 25-50 pounds
