Good Eye Optometry is seeking an experienced, personable, and sales-oriented optician to join our team full-time. We are a well-established private optometry practice in Brentwood that takes pride in providing personalized eye care and high-quality eyewear.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with patients, has a strong sense of style, and is confident recommending frames and lenses based on each patient’s prescription, lifestyle, and personal preferences. We are looking for someone who can provide excellent service while also helping grow our optical sales.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with selecting frames that complement their prescription, lifestyle, and appearance
- Explain lens options, coatings, materials, and upgrades clearly and confidently
- Take accurate optical measurements, including PD, segment height, and progressive measurements
- Adjust, fit, and repair eyeglasses
- Verify prescriptions and inspect completed eyewear
- Submit and process vision insurance claims, including VSP and EyeMed
- Provide price estimates and collect patient payments
- Follow up on eyewear orders and communicate with patients and laboratories
- Maintain an attractive, organized, and well-stocked optical dispensary
- Support front-desk and patient-care responsibilities when needed
- Build lasting patient relationships through attentive and professional service
Qualifications
- Previous optical or optician experience strongly preferred
- Strong eyewear sales and customer-service skills
- Knowledge of lenses, coatings, frame fitting, and optical measurements
- Professional, dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable discussing pricing and recommending appropriate lens upgrades
- Able to work collaboratively in a busy private-practice environment
- Experience with VSP, EyeMed, frame inventory, or optical software is a plus
- ABO certification is preferred but not required
- Experience with lens edging, finishing, or laboratory work is a valuable advantage but is not required
