Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Assist in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Maintain all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not on-site, have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
8. Process all SSC corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information, and other communications delegated by the Store Manager.
9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies and procedures.
10. Ensure proper staffing coverage daily and that the sales floor is sales-effective.
11. Manage cashiering activities to follow all cash handling practices and guidelines.
12. Coordinate store signage and maintain promotional displays.
13. Manage seasonal areas and ensure merchandise replenishment.
14. Assist with weekly scheduling and store supplies management.
15. Maintain checkout area and maximize impulse sales.
16. Refill coolers and program racks/displays daily.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
