Full-Time Nursing Faculty
Overview

This full‑time 10‑month faculty member will have a teaching and service workload spread across three academic terms spanning Fall, Winter and Spring. Under the direction of the Executive Director of Nursing, the Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing will implement the pedagogical strategies developed to support a concept‑competency based curricular framework while critically appraising the designed curriculum for necessary quality improvement. Rank will be determined based on credentials and experience.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Teach in undergraduate BSN program as appropriate to clinical/experiential and educational expertise as identified by program need.
  • Employ a variety of teaching/learning strategies in the classroom to provide engaged, active learning instruction.
  • Implement the curriculum as designed.
  • Engage in service activities consistent with the mission and strategic vision of the School of Nursing, the university and the profession.
  • Engage in curriculum oversight through assigned course management activities.
  • Engage in on‑going professional development.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and student‑centered approaches.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in nursing.
  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience.
  • Minimum 1 year teaching experience.
  • Current unencumbered RN license in Illinois or the ability to gain unencumbered licensure in Illinois.
  • Evidence of professional development in the field of concentration preferred.
