Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for full-time night shifts at Monroe County Jail in Monroe, Michigan. The RN provides quality nursing care within scope of practice and leads patient care in a correctional setting, ensuring safety and advocacy for inmates.

Requires a nursing degree and an active US license; responsibilities include medication administration, documentation, patient assessment, and coordination with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university or have graduated from an approved RN program.
• Must possess a current license in this state.
• The RN works in accordance with local practice acts and regulations, delegates and ensures supervision of nursing activities and functions to other competent nursing personnel appropriate to their scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
• Administer medications and monitor for reactions and side effects.
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor symptoms or changes in patients' condition and report promptly.
• Coordinate with healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans.
• Assist with examinations or treatments and prepare rooms and supplies.
• Educate patients and families on health topics and prevention.
