Job summary

Compass Group USA is seeking a Food Unit Lead at an Gretna, LA school site. The role coordinates shifts for food-service staff, ensures quality service, and maintains compliance with safety and sanitation standards. The schedule is full-time, weekdays, with a morning shift from 6:30 am to 2:00 pm.

Candidates should have prior managerial or lead experience and be able to supervise food preparation, service, and daily reporting while handling cash and materials responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates activities of other food-service employees to ensure service quality.
• Oversees preparation and service of food according to company standards.
• Ensures timely, efficient meal service and supervises serving of meals.
• Responds to customer complaints in person and via email.
• Trains employees and coordinates work to promote efficiency and excellence.
• Develops work schedules and expedites workflow.
• Maintains daily/weekly/monthly reports including inventories and payroll.
• Handles cash deposits and petty cash per policy.
• Orders food and supplies from approved sources.
• Directs sanitation and safety compliance for facility and staff.
• Develops sanitation schedule and supervises kitchen cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
