Job summary

Universal Health Services (UHS) is staffing a temporary full-time Mental Health Associate in Jacksonville, FL. The role involves direct patient care, maintaining a therapeutic environment, and active participation in treatment teams, serving patients from preschool to adults.

The position offers a flat rate premium of $21 per hour with weekend/overtime flexibility and opportunities for career development within UHS and its subsidiaries.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Degree or equivalent required; Certified Nursing Assistant preferred; Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline highly desirable.
• Experience: Two (2) years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
• Additional Requirements: MHA's may be required to work weekends, overtime and have flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a therapeutic relationship with all patients and assist in maintaining a safe, clean, therapeutic environment.
• Assure patient participation in program activities and perform technical/patient care duties relative to patient health and safety.
• Function as an active member of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients from preschool through adults.

Education

CNA preferred

Degree in social work or recreational therapy desirable
