Job summary

Universal Health Services, a leading provider of behavioral health services, seeks a dedicated Mental Health Associate to support milieu management and patient safety. You will collaborate with UNMs, RNs, and MHAs to deliver compassionate care in a psychiatric unit.

The role emphasizes empathy, crisis awareness, and adherence to therapeutic boundaries while engaging with diverse patient populations. Training and growth opportunities are offered within UHS.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• College students pursuing behavioral health, psychology, or human services preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills demonstrated.
• Impeccable judgment and professionalism; able to remain composed in crises.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
• Provide routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment
• Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors
• Assist with patient groups and activities
• Work with culturally and generationally diverse populations to meet individual needs
• Provide trauma informed and age-specific care
• Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques
