Job summary

Via Care Community Health Center is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. This entry-level role provides essential support to healthcare professionals and handles intake, vitals, documentation of patient history, and related administrative duties.

The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with an hourly rate in the range of $24.00 to $28.01+, dependent on experience, and certified medical assistants are preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintains complete and accurate patient records and processes billing for multiple programs.
• Assists with patient flow: greeting, charting, appointments, calls, referrals.
• Follows supervisor assignments and uses CAIR, VFC, and other systems.
• Assists in immunization inventory, ordering and reporting.
• Orders supplies and maintains inventory logs.
• Cross-trains for Front Office duties and assists Referral Coordinator as needed.
• Performs electronic lab ordering and processes lab results.
• Assists in glucometer training for diabetic patients.
• Delivers respectful, professional patient care and handles routine clerical tasks.
• Attends team meetings and participates in ongoing training.
• Performs other duties as required by supervisor.
• Supports clinicians during examination and treatment procedures.
• Provides patient education under supervision and maintains exam room cleanliness.
