Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Internal Medicine clinic in Deerfield. This full-time role supports physicians, nurses, and staff by facilitating patient flow and clinical activities, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and patient care.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS/CPR certification, and 0–2 years of related experience. Training and certification within six months are required, with benefits and a strong team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification is required.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program is preferred.
• Within six months, complete one of CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA certifications; onboarding acknowledgment required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow through the site and prepare exam rooms.
• Assist practitioners with procedures such as ECG, venipuncture, immunizations and CLIA-waived tests.
• Maintain exam rooms, inventory, and clinic cleanliness; support patient safety and privacy.
• Engage with patients and care team to promote satisfaction and accurate documentation.
• Perform delegated duties per specialty guidelines and as assigned by supervisor.
