Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Deerfield, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time 40-hour workweek at our Deerfield clinic. The MA will support physicians, nurses, and other staff by facilitating patient flow, assisting with clinical tasks, and performing basic administrative duties.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and zero to two years of relevant experience. MA certification or eligibility must be obtained within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; MA certification must be attained within six months of hire.
• Certification options include CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA or NRCMA with onboarding acknowledgement.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow and prepare exam rooms; document vitals and patient information.
• Assist practitioners with ECG, venipuncture, immunizations and supply setup.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and inventory; follow safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with patients and health care team by phone and in person.
• Performs delegated procedures as per specialty addendum
• Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor
