Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant for Internal Medicine in Illinois. This full-time position (40 hours per week) supports physicians, nurses, and clinic staff, ensuring smooth patient flow and assisting with both clinical and administrative tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, MA certification or eligibility within 6 months, BLS/CPR, and 0–2 years of experience. Compensation is hourly from $21.40 to $27.83 with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current certification in MA or eligibility for CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA within 6 months.
• BLS/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow through the clinic; escort to exam room and identify patient.
• Obtain accurate vital signs and document visit details per standards; inform provider of changes.
• Assist with ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, and specimen collection as directed.
• Maintain clean, safe exam rooms and stock supplies; manage vaccines/inventory.
• Support the care team and maintain patient confidentiality.
