Job summary

Elderwood at Grand Island is seeking a full-time Maintenance Assistant to keep facilities safe and well-maintained, with basic carpentry, plumbing, and grounds maintenance responsibilities. The role offers up to $21 per hour.

Responsibilities include electrical/plumbing/painting/carpentry tasks, grounds maintenance, snow removal, tool operation, and ensuring resident and staff safety. On-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Minimum one year of related maintenance experience (carpentry, plumbing, etc).
• Current, valid driver license.
• On-call program may require off-hours work.
• Experience with small hand tools, electric tools, lawn mowers, snowblowers.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical, plumbing, painting and carpentry duties and maintain mechanical systems.
• Maintain grounds, parking lots and driveways, including snow/ice removal.
• Move heavy furniture and equipment.
• Ensure safety and confidentiality of residents and staff; follow policies and procedures.
• Attend required meetings and participate in on-call coverage as needed.
• Propose ideas to improve quality of care and productivity.
• Adhere to safety rules and use PPE as required.
