Job summary

Elderwood at Cheektowaga is seeking a full-time maintenance assistant to join our plant operations team. The role supports resident safety and comfort by performing repairs to buildings and furnishings and maintaining grounds, including lawn care and snow/ice removal.

You will assist with electricity, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and equipment maintenance, drive the company vehicle as needed, and participate in on-call rotations while upholding Elderwood's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Minimum 1 year of related maintenance work (maintenance, carpentry, contracting, etc.).
• Current, valid driver license.
• Participation in facility on-call program (may include off-hours).
• Experience with equipment such as hand tools, electric tools, lawn mowers, snowblowers, etc.
• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with electricity, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and materials maintenance.
• Maintains grounds, parking lots, and driveways (including snow/ice removal).
• Handles freight and moves heavy furniture/equipment as needed.
• Adheres to safety rules and quality standards for residents, staff, and visitors.
