Job summary

Elderwood Assisted Living at West Seneca is seeking a full-time Maintenance Assistant to keep the facility safe and well-maintained. You will perform basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and grounds tasks, with an evening shift and on-call rotation.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of related maintenance experience, a valid driver license, and a caring approach to residents. On-site work with potential for overtime and required safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Minimum one year of related work experience in maintenance, carpentry, contracting, etc.
• Current, valid driver license.
• Participation in facility on-call program which may include working off-hours.
• Experience operating equipment such as small hand tools, electric tools, lawn mowers, snowblowers, etc.
• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Demonstrates genuine concern for the elderly; patient and compassionate attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electricity, plumbing, painting, carpentry and related maintenance tasks.
• Maintain grounds, parking lots, and driveways including snow/ice removal.
• Move heavy furniture and equipment as needed.
• Ensure safety and privacy of residents; provide excellent customer service.
• Operate or drive company vehicle as required; attend required meetings.
• Follow safety rules and policies; participate in on-call rotations.
