Job summary

The Town of Brookline is seeking a full-time Lead Preschool Teacher for the Soule Center in Brookline, serving children aged 2.9 to 5. Responsibilities include curriculum leadership, safeguarding children, daily activities, assessments, and coordinating parent conferences while adhering to EEC regulations and center policies.

Qualifications

• EEC lead teacher qualified.
• Two years experience as an early childhood teacher; Associate's degree in child development or related field.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Strong understanding of EEC licensing regulations and best practices; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; reliable, organized and professional; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and maintain developmentally appropriate classroom environments, materials, and equipment.
• Lead curriculum development and daily activities; ensure safety and well-being.
• Support classroom adjustment and positive peer relationships.
• Promote positive discipline aligned with EEC standards and center policies.
• Supervise toileting and diapering routines.
• Conduct ongoing developmental observations and collaborate with specialists.
• Maintain attendance records, documentation, and child portfolios.
• Complete formal child assessments twice yearly and schedule parent conferences.
• Foster open communication with families and attend parent meetings.
