Description

Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton, IL is looking for a full-time Laundry Assistant & Housekeeper!

Summary:

Responsible for the processing and preparation of linen for distribution to the various departments and all residents. Performs daily and scheduled housekeeping tasks such as floor cleaning, carpet vacuuming, surface cleaning, dusting, and other typical housekeeping tasks.

Essential Job Duties:

• Sorts laundry before & after it is washed
• Loads and unloads washers and dryers
• Hand folds linens and sorts personal clothing
• Delivers clean linens and personal clothing to clean linen closets and resident rooms
• Cleans floors, carpets, and furniture throughout the facility
• Emptieswastebaskets and trash containers
• Dust mops and wet mops resident rooms
• Dusts fixtures, registers, and personal furniture as needed
• Dust mops, wet mops, or vacuums offices and common areas
• Performs additional duties as required

Qualifications:

• Ability to understand and follow directions, both written and oral
• Capable of communicating with staff and residents, both written and oral
• Ability to work independently and without direct supervision
• Ability to prioritize tasks to achieve optimal productivity
• Positive attitude and caring approach required
• This is a full-time role for 30-40 hours/week. The earliest this role is scheduled is 6:00am. If the candidate has flexibility or prefers later shifts, the latest this position works is 7:00pm.Someweekend and holiday shifts required.

Physical Requirements:

• Walking and standing most of the day
• Frequent stooping, stretching, bending, climbing, kneeling, squatting, and reaching
• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 25 pounds
• Some exposure to potentially hazardous equipment, chemicals, and infectious waste
