Job summary

Argonaut Hotel is seeking a Kitchen Supervisor to train and supervise the kitchen team, ensure proper receiving, storage, and rotation of food, and schedule staff with adequate coverage. You will enforce brand standards and food safety while maintaining kitchen cleanliness and efficient operations.

Qualifications

  • Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in directing, training, and mentoring all kitchen associates.
  • Maintain shift coverage including breaks and call-offs.
  • Assign duties and observe performance to ensure policy compliance.
  • Prepare and serve hot and cold fare per menu specifications.
  • Complete daily side work per checklists and quality standards.
  • Assist in planning menus and feature offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards and food safety policies.

A DAY IN THE LIFE...

As a Kitchen Supervisor you will be responsible for training, supervising and working with all chef's staff in order to create quality food products, ensuring proper receiving, storage and rotation of food products, scheduling culinary staff with proper coverage, adhering to control procedures for cost and quality.

  • Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in directing, training, and mentoring all kitchen associates.
  • Assist in maintaining proper shift coverage including covering meal breaks and call-offs.
  • Assign duties and shifts to associates and observe performance to ensure adherence to hotel policies and established operating procedures.
  • Prepare and serve hot & cold fare per menu specifications.
  • Ensure all side work is completed daily in accordance with checklists.
  • Assist in planning menus and feature offerings.
  • Ensure all brand standards are followed.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and handling policies and procedures, i.e., use dates, the temperature of appliances and food.
  • Assist in ensuring effective departmental communication through logs, daily stand-up meetings, and monthly department meetings.
  • Provide information pertaining to hours and available services of the hotel, i.e. restaurant, lounge, and room service.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the Kitchen and surrounding areas.
  • Assist in checking all fixtures, equipment, and conditions (lights, music, heating/cooling, furniture, wallpaper, etc.) for proper operations, settings, and maintenance. Report deficiencies.
