Job summary

Crest Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center in Fairport, NY is seeking a Full-time Cook with 1–2 years of kitchen experience to join our skilled nursing team. This role prepares meals according to production sheets and ensures all diet restrictions are followed.

You will maintain a sanitary work area, label leftovers, assist with salad and baking, and help with events as needed. Weekend shifts are required; an HS diploma or GED is required, and managerial cooking experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• 1 year cooking and managerial experience required; 2 years preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and do simple math.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food according to production sheets.
• Accommodates all diet restrictions from production sheets.
• Communicates substitutions, shortages, or stock issues to management.
• Maintains QA standards in the department.
• Stores leftovers properly with labeling and dating.
• Stores perishable deliveries correctly.
• Performs other production duties including salad and baking.
• Cooks for events and aids in setups.
• Maintains clean, sanitary work areas and equipment.
• Follows sanitation checklists and coordinates major cleaning.
• Participates in in-service education and safety programs.
• Weekends required.
