Job summary

Maine Optometry is seeking an Eyewear Sales Consultant/Optician in Lewiston for a full-time, in-person sales role. You’ll help patients select eyewear, take measurements, and ensure a perfect fit while delivering friendly, knowledgeable service.

Experience in healthcare or customer service is a plus but not required; comprehensive training is provided. You’ll join a supportive team and enjoy competitive benefits, including health insurance and a 401K, in a practice known for community care.

Qualifications

ABO certification preferred, optical dispensing experience preferred but not required.
Experience in healthcare or customer service is a plus but not required.
Willingness to learn and train in eyewear fitting and customer service.
Ability to take measurements and fit eyewear accurately.

Responsibilities

Take and record measurements, adjust or fit eyewear correctly, and ensure finished eyewear meets standards and patient requirements.
Explores the needs and priorities of customers by asking open ended questions.
Review prescriptions, identify special needs, and consult with optometrists and management as needed.
Custom fit glasses and inspect eyewear; reinforce patients’ final selection.
Demonstrate product knowledge and describe features and benefits of lenses and frames.
Anticipate problems, develop long-term solutions for patients.
Present and educate patients on eyewear; commit to delivery date and time of eyewear.
Keep frame boards clean, attractive, and organized.
