Job summary

Maine Optometry is seeking an Eyewear Sales Consultant/Optician in Lewiston, ME. You will greet patients, assist in selecting eyewear, and ensure proper fit and comfort while delivering a high level of customer service. Training is provided, and prior healthcare experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Friendly, detail oriented and eager to contribute to a positive work environment.
• Experience in healthcare or customer service is a plus but not required.
• Ability to take and record measurements and adjust eyewear to fit.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic math skills for transactions and measurements.
• ABO certification or optical dispensing experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and explain what to expect from the eyewear shopping experience.
• Take and record measurements, adjust eyewear for fit and comfort, ensure eyewear meets standards.
• Explore customer needs with open-ended questions and identify preferences.
• Review prescriptions and consult with optometrists as needed.
• Custom fit glasses and inspect eyewear; reinforce final selection.
• Explain features and benefits of lenses and frames to patients.
• Educate patients on eyewear and manage delivery timelines.
