Job summary

Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice in Chicago North Shore, IL seeks a Full-Time In-Home Veterinarian to serve Arlington Heights, Glenview, Highland Park, Northbrook, McHenry and surrounding communities.

This mobile role emphasizes balance, with flexible 3–5 day schedules, generous on-call spaces, and strong mentorship. You’ll provide hospice and euthanasia care with compassion, helping families during meaningful moments while maintaining clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD/BVMS required
• Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license
• Availability to work some weekends
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 100 lbs with assistance

Responsibilities

• Provide hospice and euthanasia care for pets in clients' homes
• Develop and communicate care plans with pet families
• Collaborate with Lap of Love team and practice managers
• Maintain accurate notes and client communication

• Veterinarian Salary Range: 3-day, 4-day, and 5-day full-time opportunities are available in Chicago North Shore, IL, including Arlington Heights, Glenview, Highland Park, Northbrook, McHenry, Palatine, and surrounding areas. Compensation varies based on schedule structure, with 4-day positions starting at $107,500 and 5-day positions offering a base salary of $130,000, plus additional bonus opportunities. 3-Day Full-Time and Part-time opportunities are also available in this market and offer prorated compensation based on schedule

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD/BVMS)
• Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license
• Availability to work some weekends
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 100 lbs with assistance
• Candidates will be subject to a background and motor vehicle record check, post-hire and before their associated start date
