Job summary

The Courtyard by Marriott in Matthews, NC is hiring for a full-time Laundry Attendant. The person hired will work day shifts; weekend availability is required. PRIMARY PURPOSE: to maintain the condition of all hotel linen in accordance with standards through efficient cleaning and processing.

RESPONSIBILITIES include sorting laundry, loading machines, saving energy, folding linen and operating equipment. REQUIREMENTS emphasize flexibility, interpersonal skills, detail-orientation, and weekend

Qualifications

• Must be flexible in work hours to accommodate last minute changes in scheduling.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills to engage and interact with associates and guests.
• Must be detail oriented in supervising staff, inspection of facilities and completing assignments.
• Must be available to work weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Sorts laundry by fabric type, color, item or soil concentration for washing.
• Pulls damaged or stained linen before loading washers.
• Ensures maximum loading capacity of machines and loads washers/dryers correctly.
• Sets dryers for proper heating and cooling times and folds linen per brand standards.
• Operates, maintains and cleans laundry equipment and reports shortages or failures.
