Job summary

The Hilton Milwaukee, part of The Marcus Corporation, is hiring a full-time Cook to join our hotel kitchen team in downtown Milwaukee. You will prepare station-specific items, ensure quality, and support sanitation and safety standards.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, knife ownership, and solid English comprehension. Expect an hourly wage with opportunities for growth and benefits after introductory period.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must own a set of knives.
• Knowledge of proper knife handling, techniques, and cooking procedures.
• Knowledge of basic prep functions (i.e. cleaning greens, prepping vegetables).
• Knowledge and basic comprehension of the English language.
• Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use all kitchen equipment, i.e., knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slicers, etc.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull weights up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods, work in a confined space with high levels of noise and frequent interruptions and perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
• Ability to obtain any local, state or federal license or certification for sanitation, liquor service, or food service certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare station-specific food items according to recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Monitor product storage, portion sizes, and special items like stocks and sauces.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas to meet Health Department regulations.
• Ensure equipment is clean, sanitized, and operational.
• Uphold high standards of food production and presentation.
• Maintain personal hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Manage station setup, breakdown, and prep work.
• Follow recipe specifications for all food preparation.
