Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ, is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Aide I in the Environmental Services Department to clean nursing units, patient rooms and other areas using proper cleaning techniques.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, English fluency, ability to lift 50 lbs, and flexibility to work 7:00AM-3:00PM with alternating weekends; starting pay is $18.50 per hour with opportunities for growth within a renowned nonprofit health system.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to bend/push/pull/lift 50LBS.

Responsibilities

• Cleans nursing units, patients' rooms and designated facility areas with appropriate cleaning equipment.
• Follows department policies for cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization.
• Cleans up major spills and responds to pages promptly.
• Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at end of shift.
• Removes all trash and linen from hospital areas.
• Follows directions for cleaning solution prep and bio-hazard handling.
• Checks environmental needs in assigned areas periodically.
• Reports repairs to maintenance staff when needed.
• Keeps informed of environmental services changes by attending monthly meetings.
• Handles moderately complex issues and refers more complex problems to higher-level staff.
• Cleans bodily fluids as part of duties.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
